The "Ironman China" T100 Huangshan Open, scheduled for October 24-25 at the Taiping Lake Sports Center in Huangshan City, promises an exhilarating blend of natural beauty and athletic challenge. The event features a variety of categories including the full-distance age-group division (T100), half-distance age-group division (T100 Half), triathlon relay team events, duathlons combining running and swimming or cycling and running.
Participants in the T100 category will embark on an 107-kilometer journey starting at 7:10 AM on October 25th. The course includes a challenging swim through the crystal-clear waters of Taiping Lake for 2 kilometers, followed by a vigorous cycle ride around scenic mountain trails and villages totaling 87 kilometers, culminating in an invigorating 18-kilometer run along picturesque lakeside paths.
The half-distance T100 event begins at 8:20 AM on October 25th with a more compact but equally demanding route. Athletes will swim for one kilometer and cycle through the rolling hills of Taiping Lake, covering 35 kilometers before transitioning to a final run along scenic lakefront trails totaling nine kilometers.
The triathlon relay category also starts at 8:20 AM on October 25th with teams of three athletes. Each member must complete either swimming, cycling or running legs in the overall distance of 45 kilometers, ensuring that every team includes at least one female athlete.
For those who prefer shorter events, both duathlon categories offer a mix of endurance and scenic beauty. The run-bike-duathlon begins early with an exhilarating start time of 7:30 AM on October 25th for the cycling leg covering 35 kilometers followed by a nine-kilometer running segment along Taiping Lake's stunning shoreline.
The event promises to immerse participants in Huangshan’s natural beauty, offering breathtaking views at every turn.
