48. Landskron - Cross

The City of Görlitz is set to host the 2026 OL Görlitz Orienteering Race, an exciting competition that promises to challenge runners across various age groups and distances. The race takes place on Wednesday, August 26th, starting at 5:30 PM.
Participants will begin their journey from the historic Landeskrone area in Görlitz, ascending a steep staircase before heading onto Pfaffendorfer Weg/Aufgangstraße. This unique start sets the tone for an event that blends physical challenge with scenic beauty and historical context.
The race features several categories designed to cater to different age groups:
- AK (U10) Race: Both male and female runners will compete on a 1-kilometer course.

- AK (U14) Race: A slightly longer distance of 2.6 kilometers awaits participants in this category.
- AK U16-U18 Race: More seasoned youth athletes can look forward to running either 4.7 or 11 kilometers, depending on their age and gender.

- AK (U20 - 50) & AK (55+): These categories offer a range of distances from 4.7 kilometers for the younger set up to 11 kilometers for those in the U20-U50 bracket.
For runners aged 60 and above, distances vary between 2.6 and 4.7 kilometers, ensuring that every participant finds an appropriate challenge level regardless of age or experience.
The race takes place within a protected natural environment, emphasizing the importance of adhering to marked paths throughout the event. This setting not only provides breathtaking views but also underscores the need for participants to respect nature while competing.
Registration fees vary depending on whether you register in advance or at the venue before 5:15 PM on the day of the race:
- 1 km Course: Early registration is free, with a fee of €2.00 if registered later.

- 2.6 km Course: The cost for early registrants is €2.00 and increases to €3.00 at the venue.
- 4.7 km Courses (AK U18+, AK 55+): Early registration costs are set at €5.00, rising to €7.00 on race day.

- 11 km Course: For this longer distance category, early registrants pay €8.00 while those registering later will be charged €10.00.
Competitors must ensure they have adequate insurance coverage as the event organizers do not provide it for participants.
