Aberavon Surf Lifesaving Club Junior Aquathlon

Aberavon Surf Lifesaving Club, alongside Port Talbot Harriers and Welsh Triathlon, invites young athletes to the Junior Aquathlon on Saturday, August 1st, 2026 at Aberavon Beach. This return of a popular swim-run event offers participants from age groups TriStar 2 through Junior an exhilarating experience in a stunning coastal setting.
The race begins with a beach entry into sheltered open waters near the raised pier where spectators can cheer on swimmers and runners alike. For TriStar 2/3 athletes (ages 11-14), the challenge includes a 300-meter swim followed by a scenic, flat run of 1200 meters along the coastline. Older competitors in Youth A/B & Junior categories (ages 15-19) will tackle a more demanding course with a 600-meter swim and a subsequent 2000-meter coastal run.
The event is part of a larger day filled with athletic activities, including the GV 70.tri middle distance triathlon and Teleri Tens Mini Miler. This ensures that athletes of all ages will find an engaging challenge to suit their abilities. Nearby parking options—both free and paid—are available along with convenient toilet facilities and refreshments.
