Dive into the heart of Ånga, Sweden, where nature meets endurance with the Swimrun Festival 2024. This year’s festival offers four distinct events that cater to all levels and ages, from seasoned athletes to beginners. The Ånga Race 22 km challenges participants with a grueling course through stunning landscapes both on land and water. Spanning an impressive 22 kilometers, this race combines rigorous trail running with demanding swimming sections in serene lakes and the open sea. The terrain is varied and challenging, testing your limits as you navigate rocky shores and dense forests. For those looking for a more manageable yet equally exhilarating experience, the Ånga Race 11 km offers an 11-kilometer course that still packs plenty of punch with its mix of trail running and lake swimming. This race is designed to push participants through tough terrain while enjoying the breathtaking scenery around every turn. The event culminates in a unique twist: the Ånga Race Twilight, set to begin at sunset on Friday, August 9th, as daylight gives way to twilight skies. Competitors must navigate their route with only the guidance of waterproof headlamps, adding an element of adventure and challenge under the starlit sky. Newcomers to swimrun can ease into the sport with the Ånga Race 5 km, a shorter but no less engaging event that covers approximately 4.7 kilometers on trails and includes three swimming stretches totaling 300 meters. The longest stretch is a challenging 120-meter swim through clear waters. Finally, the Ånga Race Family invites children aged 0 to 15 years old to experience the thrill of swimrun in a safe and fun environment. Youngsters who cannot yet swim can enjoy a scenic trail route of 1.5 kilometers. For those with some swimming skills, there’s an additional challenge on offer: a 3.3-kilometer course that includes at least one stretch where they must swim for 200 meters. Whether you're looking to push your limits or introduce the next generation to this exciting sport, Ånga offers something unforgettable in its natural beauty and challenging courses. Join us as we celebrate the spirit of adventure and camaraderie amidst Ånga’s stunning landscapes.
