The event takes place in one of only a few 50-meter pools across the country, ensuring a smooth and fair competition as swimmers take on either 50 meters for younger participants up to 8 years old or distances ranging from 150 meters to 400 meters based on age categories. Each swimmer is seeded according to their predicted time, allowing them to start at an appropriate pace without unnecessary delays.
Following the pool action, competitors transition onto Oundle School’s lush grounds for a bike and run segment. The cycling leg spans smooth grass tracks around the playing fields with distances varying from 800 meters up to 13 kilometers for older teens or adults looking to join in on race day morning. Meanwhile, runners tackle tarmac paths looping around tennis courts, completing loops that range from 600 meters to 2.6 kilometers.
Upon crossing the finish line, all participants are greeted with individual chip-timing and a custom-designed medal celebrating their achievement. Refreshments and goodie bags await every child at the event's conclusion on the playing fields.
