BAMBURGH CASTLE DUATHLONS

Bamburgh Castle Duathlons returns this year for an unforgettable weekend of multisport action on the stunning Northumberland coastline. The event features both Sprint and Standard Duathlons, alongside a brand-new 10km Trail Run, all set against the majestic backdrop of Bamburgh Castle.
Participants will experience breathtaking coastal scenery as they run along paths and trails within the castle grounds and cycle through open roads that wind around the picturesque coastline. The event is designed to cater to athletes of various fitness levels, with any type of push bike being acceptable for use during the cycling portion.
The Sprint Duathlon consists of a 5km run followed by approximately 20+ km on two wheels before concluding with another 2.5km run back towards the castle. For those seeking more endurance and challenge, the Standard Duathlon offers a longer course: a 10km initial run, a grueling 40+ km cycle ride along scenic coastal routes, followed by a final 5km jog to cross the finish line.
With relay options available for both duathlons, friends can team up to share the challenge and fun. The event also features secure transition areas where athletes can leave their belongings safely while they compete.
Start times are scheduled for Saturday at 8:30 am for all participants in either distance category. Live chip timing will be provided by Timing Up North to ensure accurate results, with finishers receiving an exclusive event medal and a complimentary snack and drink upon completion of the race.
Competitors can purchase a specially designed Event T-Shirt during registration for just £14, adding to their memorable experience at Bamburgh Castle. On-site parking is available for £4 per vehicle; however, participants are encouraged to carpool or use public transportation to minimize traffic congestion and environmental impact.
