Blackstrap Trail Race

The Blackstrap Trail Race takes place on Sunday, October 4, 2026, starting at 10:00 AM CST at Blackstrap Provincial Park in Dundurn, SK, Canada. This "green, no frills" event offers 5K and 10K trail races along forested valley walls with a combination of wider cross-country ski trails and single track. There are no T-shirts or medals offered — just the pure enjoyment of running the trails. Registration is capped at 80 participants.

Registration and Deadlines:

Entry fee: $15.00 per runner (plus taxes and Race Roster admin fee)
Saskatoon Road Runner Association members receive $5.00 discount
Registration capped at 80 participants — closes if cap is met
No refunds

Age Categories:

Under 20 (5K or 10K) — 5K: runners under 20; 10K: runners 12–19
Open (5K or 10K) — runners 20–34
Masters (5K or 10K) — runners 35–102

Directions:

Blackstrap Provincial Park — ~50 km south of Saskatoon
From Saskatoon: Hwy 11 south to Dundurn, turn east onto Hwy 211
Cross causeway at Blackstrap Lake, turn south (right) to entrance kiosk
From kiosk, follow road 2 km to trailhead parking lot (first left after kiosk)
Saskatchewan Provincial Park pass or daily park permit recommended

The Blackstrap Trail Race 2026 is no-frills trail running at its best — no medals, no shirts, just the joy of fall trails and a wiener roast with fellow runners.

About Dundurn

Dundurn is a town of 647 residents surrounded by the RM of Dundurn No. 314, in the Canadian province of Saskatchewan. Dundurn is located on Highway 11, or Louis Riel Trail, in central Saskatchewan, about 42 km south of Saskatoon. As well as being an agricultural town, it is a bedroom community for both Saskatoon and Canadian Forces Detachment Dundurn, which is located 6 kilometres (4 mi) north of town and is a detachment of 17 Wing Winnipeg.
