The Fenland Clarion Cycling Club invites you to an exhilarating time trial event that takes place on select evenings throughout April, May, June, July, and August. This competitive ride is open exclusively to club members who are First or Second Claim, though guests are welcome to participate in up to two events before joining the ranks of Fenland Clarion CC. The race begins at 18:46 for April and shifts slightly later to 19:01 during May through August. Riders will start one minute apart from a designated gateway atop Ufford Hill on the Stamford road, setting off under clear instructions provided by marshals who ensure everyone adheres strictly to Cycling Time Trials (CTT) rules. The course is meticulously mapped out and available for preview via Strava at . It begins with a sharp left turn onto King Street, followed by another left onto the B1443 road. The route then leads to Bainton where riders will make a crucial left turn opposite the church before completing their first lap and entering into a neutral section of 600 meters within Bainton. This scenic ride covers approximately 10.4 miles, featuring varied terrain that includes S-bends on Langley Bush Road with its poor road surface near the racing line. Cyclists must navigate through public roads where they will encounter various challenges such as traffic from farm vehicles and horses. The event emphasizes safety at all times; riders are required to use front and rear lights and wear approved helmets. Upon crossing the finish line, participants should not stop but continue riding towards Ufford until reaching a large gateway opposite the final left-hand bend before Ufford Hill. Parking is available at Vergette's Field shortly after the finish point, accessible via What3Words coordinates: presume.digestion.ponies or through Google Maps . The event organizers ensure that all participants receive pre-race instructions and safety checks before setting off on their journey. It’s crucial to follow marshals’ directions closely, especially during the neutral section in Bainton where riders must adhere strictly to a 20 mph speed limit. For further information or assistance, contact Steve Clarke at 67 Hall Lane, Werrington, Peterborough PE4 6RA on (07951) 666331.
