About the Event

Experience the inaugural Capes 100, an epic 100-mile trail running race set against the breathtaking backdrop of Atlantic Canada. The event spans August 7-9, 2026, offering runners two challenging yet rewarding options: a full 100 miles and a shorter 43-kilometer route.
Participants will traverse the awe-inspiring Mabou Highlands, where rugged trails wind through lush forests and along the pristine waters of the Atlantic Ocean. The course weaves its way past picturesque beaches, crystal-clear streams, and dramatic cliffs that offer panoramic vistas at every turn.
Cape Breton’s Cape Mabou and Foot Cape will be your epicentre, providing a unique blend of natural beauty and trail running challenges. Each step you take will be memorable as you immerse yourself in the raw, untamed wilderness of this coastal region.

About Mabou

Mabou is an unincorporated community in the Municipality of the County of Inverness on the west coast of Cape Breton Island, Nova Scotia, Canada. The population in 2011 was 1,207 residents. It is the site of The Red Shoe pub, Beinn Mhàbu, the An Drochaid Museum, and Glenora Distillers.
