The Carcoar Cup Running Festival 2026 returns to the historic village of Carcoar in New South Wales on Sunday, November 8th. This iconic event is a must for all runners and has been celebrated as Community Event of the Year since 2011 and as NSW Regional Flagship Event from 2014 through 2020.
The festival takes place along the picturesque roads winding through Carcoar’s charming streets, starting just off Main Street at the historic bridge. The route meanders through the village park, past the old court house, before heading towards the creek and back into town. Spectators line the streets, adding to the festive atmosphere with their enthusiastic cheers.
The event has a rich history of community engagement; it celebrated its tenth anniversary in 2022 and continues to attract participants from all over Australia. This year’s festival will see thousands of runners participate across various distances, each contributing to the vibrant spirit that makes Carcoar Cup so special. The marathon course offers both scenic views and a challenging experience for seasoned runners, while shorter distances like the 6km run are perfect for families or those just starting their running journey.
The Carcoar Cup Running Festival presents multiple race options: the 10km event for adults at A$55; the half marathon with a fee of A$85; and the full marathon priced at A$125. For younger runners, there’s the Kids K race (noted as 1.8km but named in prose as 1.9km) costing A$25. The Carcoar to Creek Dash is also a popular choice for those preferring a shorter distance of 6km and priced at A$40.
For teams, there’s the Teams Marathon with both captain (A$220) and member (free) entries available. Bibs are to be picked up on race morning at the town hall, where participants should bring their own pens and markers.
The start location for the marathon is Main Street Bridge in Carcoar. Participants must be 17 years or older to run the full marathon distance; children under this age can join the Kids K event. First-timers are encouraged to arrive early to ensure they have all necessary items, including their race bib and any required documentation.
