Welcome to the 2026 WomDomNom Paddle Event, an unforgettable journey along the Macquarie River from Wellington through Dubbo and Narromine. This four-day adventure spans 155 kilometers of scenic river landscapes, offering participants a unique blend of natural beauty and challenging terrains. Starting on Thursday, November 26, 2026, in Wellington, you'll embark on this fully supported paddle journey. Each day will see you navigating through the picturesque Macquarie River for approximately six hours before setting up camp at carefully chosen locations each evening. The event is designed as a recreational experience with an emphasis on encouraging paddling along the river, providing participants with a serene and enriching environment. Your equipment and camping gear are transported daily between campsites, ensuring you can focus solely on enjoying the journey without worrying about logistics. All meals and soft drinks will be provided over the four days, making your experience as comfortable and enjoyable as possible. The route takes you through diverse landscapes—from lush riverbanks to open stretches where you'll catch glimpses of wildlife. The event is recommended for experienced kayakers due to its long distances and potential river hazards. Pre-event training is advised but not mandatory. Basic paddling skills are essential, along with a good level of fitness and stamina. Participants must be able to maintain a speed of at least 6 kilometers per hour on the water. "WomDomNom" stands for Wellington on Macquarie (Wom), Dubbo on Macquarie (Dom), Narromine on Macquarie (Nom)—a nod to the three towns that frame this extraordinary journey. The days are structured as follows: Day one, you'll travel 38 kilometers and camp at Bril Bral reserve for the evening; day two sees a choice of paddling either 34 or 43 kilometers before settling in near Dubbo; on Saturday, November 28, paddle 45 kilometers to Dickygundi Reserve; finally, on Sunday, you'll complete your journey by covering 36 kilometers from Dubbo to Narromine. This event also supports the vital work of the Black Dog Institute, a leading organization in mental health. By participating, you contribute to their efforts in helping those suffering from depression, bipolar disorder, and other mental illnesses. The cost for this four-day adventure is $90 per day, totaling $360 for the entire journey. Join us for an experience that combines natural beauty with personal challenge and community support as we paddle through some of Australia's most captivating landscapes.
