Clipston Trail Races

Immerse yourself in the scenic beauty of Clipston with its rolling hills and lush countryside at the annual Clipston Trail Races. This picturesque setting offers runners an unforgettable trail running experience, perfect for both newcomers to the sport and seasoned enthusiasts.
The 5-mile race is a delightful introduction to the joys of trail running on bridleways and minor country roads that wind through Northamptonshire’s serene landscapes. The course begins at the Clipston Recreation Ground opposite the pavilion and immediately takes runners uphill into the countryside, offering breathtaking views as you progress along the route.
Participants will enjoy looping down to Kelmarsh before returning back to Clipston via a footpath, completing their journey with stunning vistas of the surrounding rolling hills. This challenging yet rewarding course features an elevation gain of 237 meters and is designed to showcase the natural beauty of Northamptonshire while providing runners with a memorable challenge.
The event is organized in partnership with the Clipston Recreation Field Trust, a dedicated charity that has been maintaining and developing local recreational facilities since the early '80s. Funds raised from this race will go towards essential maintenance projects, including replacing the tennis courts as needed to ensure these spaces remain accessible for future generations of residents.
All finishers can look forward to receiving medals along with homemade cakes provided by Alison Morley and members of the Clipston WI, adding a touch of local charm to your post-race celebration. To minimize environmental impact, participants are encouraged to bring their own reusable cups for water stations located throughout both race routes.
Registration opens at 8:00 AM on race day, allowing ample time to collect your number and timing chip before the start of either distance option. Online entries close by Wednesday evening prior to the event, with transfers closing a few days earlier on Sunday.
