Coast Guard Race 2026

About the Event

Celebrate the summer season with the 12th Annual Coast Guard Race, organized by the City of Portsmouth. This popular morning event honors the local Coast Guard community and offers runners three distance options: 5K, 10K, and 15K.
Registration rates vary depending on when you sign up:
- Winter Special (through February 14): $30 for 5K, $35 for 10K, $40 for 15K
- Early Bird Discount (until May 15): $35 for 5K, $40 for 10K, $45 for 15K
- Standard Registration (through July 20): $40 for 5K, $45 for 10K, $50 for 15K
- Late Summer Sign-ups (until July 30): $45 for 5K, $50 for 10K, $55 for 15K
- Race Day Registration: $50 for 5K, $55 for 10K, $60 for 15K
Active Coast Guard members can register at a discounted rate of just $25.
The race starts promptly at 7:30 AM with all distances beginning simultaneously. Participants will enjoy the scenic coastal route around Festival Park and through Portsmouth's historic neighborhoods before crossing the finish line to receive their medal and event tee-shirt.
Prizes are awarded to the top three male and female overall winners, as well as the top Coast Guard members in both genders. Age category awards are also given out for 18 & Under, 19-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, and 70 & Over.
Free public parking is available at Festival Park to make the event accessible. The atmosphere promises a blend of community spirit and competitive excitement, perfect for runners of all levels looking to pay tribute to the Coast Guard's dedication and service in Portsmouth. B
