Nestled along England's breathtaking coastlines, the Coast to Coast 300KM Ultra is an epic multi-day adventure that spans from St Bees on the Irish Sea to Robin Hood’s Bay by the North Sea. This journey follows Alfred Wainwright’s renowned route through some of Britain’s most stunning landscapes. Participants will traverse a diverse array of terrains, crossing three national parks: the Lake District, Yorkshire Dales, and North York Moors. The path winds through mountain trails, moorland expanses, forest tracks, farmland, and road crossings, offering an ever-changing scenery that challenges both body and mind. Each day presents unique conditions underfoot, from rocky paths to muddy stretches, making navigation skills essential. The event is designed for experienced ultra runners and long-distance hikers who are comfortable navigating remote areas independently over multiple days. A detailed GPX file will be provided ahead of the race date to help participants prepare thoroughly. Throughout the route, structured checkpoints offer crucial support services such as rest stops, medical aid stations, and resupply points. These locations also serve as meeting places for family members and friends who wish to cheer on competitors along their journey. Specific checkpoint details will be outlined in the final event pack distributed before race day. Competitors must adhere strictly to established cut-off times across each section of the course. The overall time limit is set at 112 hours, ensuring that all participants complete the challenge safely and within a reasonable timeframe. Those who fall behind this pace may face withdrawal from the event for their own safety as well as others'. Safety remains paramount throughout the Coast to Coast Ultra. A comprehensive kit list will be required of every runner, including items such as emergency supplies, hydration packs, and navigation tools. Live tracking devices are also mandatory, allowing race organizers to monitor participant progress at all times. The International Trail Running Association (ITRA) officially recognizes this event, granting participants who successfully complete the 300KM Ultra valuable ITRA endurance points upon finishing. Additional amenities like a bag drop service will be available at select checkpoints for added convenience during the trek. Community Traverse aims to foster an inclusive and supportive atmosphere throughout every stage of the race, ensuring that all runners feel welcome and encouraged as they push their limits against nature's grand backdrop. This event is more than just a run; it’s an immersive experience into England’s natural beauty and rich history. It challenges participants not only physically but also mentally, rewarding those who embrace its rigors with unparalleled views and personal achievement.
