Corn to Creek Trail Races invites trail runners of all levels for its second annual edition, set against the backdrop of Wilderness Park. This grassroots event offers both 25K and 10K distances that wind through the park's rugged yet enchanting trails, providing a unique autumn adventure. The race takes place as fall transitions into winter, with crisp air enveloping the forested landscape. The course is designed to showcase the natural beauty of Wilderness Park, featuring a single loop for the longer distance and an intriguing start loop followed by out-and-back sections for the shorter route. Both courses are predominantly dirt singletrack trails, offering a mix of crushed limestone paths and technical terrain that includes fallen leaves, roots, rocks, and short hills. The 25K course covers approximately one-third of Wilderness Park in a non-repetitive manner, with three well-stocked aid stations along the way, including restrooms at the halfway point. The 10K route shares portions with the longer distance but includes its own unique start loop before connecting to shared trails for part of the journey. Registration is now open and will close a few days prior to race day, ensuring an intimate event capped at 200 participants across both distances. Race shirts are optional and can be purchased separately for around $10. To ensure a smooth experience, all runners should prepare for chilly temperatures by dressing appropriately and carrying their own hydration gear as this is a cupless race. The course rules emphasize respect for the trails and fellow runners, prohibiting littering, off-trail running, pets, strollers, pacers, or mechanical travel of any kind. Participants must also be mindful of other trail users such as horse riders and maintain awareness at road crossings. While no time cutoffs are enforced, participants should adhere to race rules for a safe and enjoyable experience. All proceeds from the Corn to Creek Trail Races benefit Friends of Wilderness Park, supporting ongoing conservation efforts, education initiatives, and future events in this beloved natural setting. Join us for an unforgettable autumn adventure through one of Pennsylvania's hidden gems.
