East Cornwall Harriers invites runners to experience the breathtaking Cornish Marathon, an annual race celebrated for its stunning landscapes and challenging course. The marathon begins and concludes at Pensilva's picturesque town center, weaving through some of East Cornwall’s most iconic landmarks. Runners will encounter Golitha Falls, a serene waterfall surrounded by lush greenery; Colliford Lake, offering panoramic views across the water; Dozemary Pool, known for its mystical atmosphere; Jamaica Inn, steeped in history and mystery; Bolventer Valley with its rolling hills and scenic vistas; and King Doniets Stones, an ancient site rich in folklore. These landmarks not only provide a memorable backdrop but also serve as perfect spots for spectators to cheer on the runners. Race day operations are managed from the centrally located Millennium Centre in Pensilva, ensuring participants have easy access to all necessary information and amenities. This year’s event will feature chip timing technology, providing accurate results and enhancing the overall racing experience. The minimum age requirement is 18 years old, allowing mature athletes to enjoy this challenging yet rewarding marathon. The race has a strict cut-off time of six hours and thirty minutes; after which marshals will cease their duties at various points along the route for safety reasons. With limited entries capped at 475 runners, early registration is highly recommended as spots tend to fill up quickly. Unfortunately, no on-the-day sign-ups are available due to capacity constraints. For added peace of mind, participants have the option to purchase XCover insurance, which can provide a refund should unforeseen circumstances prevent their participation in this event. The 2026 edition will start at 9:00 AM sharp, offering runners an earlier morning departure compared to previous years. This change aims to optimize conditions for all competitors while ensuring they have ample daylight throughout the challenging course. Join East Cornwall Harriers and immerse yourself in a marathon that combines natural beauty with historical charm, making it one of the most beloved events on the Cornish Grand Prix series calendar.
