Experience the thrill of night running as Batawa Trails Race invites you to challenge yourself under the stars. The race, which begins post-sunset, offers two distances: a 7km and a 14km course. As you navigate through the scenic trails, prepare for an adventure filled with natural obstacles such as rocks, roots, stumps, and hills. Despite the rugged terrain, these paths are well-marked to ensure your safety. Remember, headlamps or waist-mounted lights are essential; headphones are strictly prohibited. Embrace the darkness and focus on your running form in this unique setting. Aid stations will provide water and Tailwind for all runners at regular intervals along both courses. Halfway through the 14km route, you'll find additional refreshments including watermelon, chips, and freezies to keep you energized. However, bring your own reusable water bottle as there are no disposable cups available. The race offers a medal-only celebration for top performers; first place males and females in both distances will receive custom medals. Timing is manual, so ensure your bib number—visible on the front—is prominently displayed throughout the event to avoid any timing issues. Kit pickup begins at 7:00 PM on race night, allowing ample time for last-minute preparations. For those who registered before June 21st, you'll also receive a complimentary race t-shirt. Should you need to make changes to your distance or have questions regarding refunds and deferrals, contact dirtysolestrail@gmail.com. Porta potties will be available at the start/finish line for convenience. All participants will receive a medal upon completion of their chosen course length, making this not just a race but an achievement in perseverance and trail running skill enhancement. Sponsored by local businesses dedicated to supporting outdoor enthusiasts, Batawa Trails Race promises a memorable night run through picturesque landscapes that transform as the sun sets.
