Dartmoor Diaries: A New Adventure Series Set for 2027
As part of our Dartmoor Diaries series, we are excited to introduce the third installment in January 2027. This smaller-scale challenge event offers a unique opportunity to explore one of Britain's most captivating landscapes while testing your navigation skills and resilience.
The walk takes place on the rugged terrain of Dartmoor National Park, where participants must be prepared for any weather condition. Entrants are required to possess map reading abilities, compass orientation knowledge, and essential navigational equipment to traverse this diverse landscape safely. It is imperative that all participants adhere strictly to both the Dartmoor Ranger Code and the Countryside Code throughout their journey.
The event route will cover areas detailed on OS Explorer OL28 Dartmoor (1:25,000) maps, providing a comprehensive guide for adventurers eager to explore this historic wilderness. Please note that dogs are not permitted at this event except for registered assistance animals accompanying individuals with disabilities.
In the lead-up to race day, all entrants will receive detailed route descriptions and GPX files via email. These resources serve as invaluable tools in preparing participants for an unforgettable experience on Dartmoor's trails.
Upon completion of the walk, every participant will be awarded a certificate celebrating their achievement and perseverance through this challenging yet rewarding journey across one of England’s most iconic natural landscapes.
