Organized by Castle Triathlon Club of Prudhoe and Northumbrian Water, this event offers both Sprint and Standard distances in a picturesque setting. Location: Derwent Reservoir (Dam South), Edmundbyers, Consett, DH8 9TT The venue is nestled on the border between Durham and Northumberland. Known for its clear waters and serene countryside lanes, Derwent Reservoir provides an ideal backdrop for triathletes of all levels. ### Event Distances Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned athlete, there’s something to suit everyone: Sprint Triathlon - Swim: 750m in the tranquil reservoir. - Cycle: A scenic 22km ride through quiet country lanes. - Run: Enjoy flat(ish) paths and trails for a total of 5km. Standard Triathlon - Swim: Dive into the calm waters for a longer 1,500m swim. - Cycle: Cover more ground with a challenging 39km cycle route. - Run: Conclude your journey on a flat(ish) course spanning 10km. For those who prefer to skip the run or wish to focus solely on swimming and cycling: Sprint Aquabike - Swim: 750m - Cycle: 22km Standard Aquabike - Swim: 1,500m - Cycle: 39km ### Transition Area & Race Day Logistics Transition areas are securely designated for competitors only. Ensure your race number and bike number match the racking numbers provided. Helmets must be worn at all times before entering the transition area. Parking: Participants can park at Derwent Waterside Park, with a charge of £3 per vehicle. There is a 10-15 minute walk from the car park to the event location. ### Post-Race Upon crossing the finish line, you’ll be greeted by: - A commemorative medal. - Wild Deer merchandise as a keepsake. - Refreshments including snacks and drinks. For an extra touch of memorabilia, add a £14 commemorative T-shirt when signing up for the event.
