Dog Days of Summer 5k & 10k

The Dog Days of Summer 5k & 10k returns to Warrenton, Virginia on September 5th this year. Participants will gather at the Warrenton Aquatic & Fitness Center for an early morning run through rolling hills and peaceful trails that surround it.
Race day in late summer brings a comfortable temperature range: highs around 25 degrees Celsius with lows of about 16 to 17 degrees, creating ideal conditions for running. The humidity is at a manageable 73%, making the air feel just right on race morning. A gentle breeze keeps things pleasant, though runners might experience some slight wind during their route.
Historically, this event has been a community favorite since its inception in 2018. It's known to attract over 500 participants each year, with both adults and strollers making the trails their own. The race supports local initiatives and scholarships through donations from runners who share Warrenton’s love for fitness.
The course venue is marked by hard and dry surface trails that provide a challenging yet enjoyable run.
