Starting in Bourne, Oregon, this route follows part of the longer course before diverging to include climbs up from the crest, visits to Lost Lake, and loops around Summit Lake. With approximately 6,500 feet of elevation gain and nearly 7,100 feet of loss over its 32-mile length, it promises a day filled with breathtaking scenery and varied terrain.
Both races are cupless events designed to minimize waste in the pristine mountain environment. Participants must carry essential gear at all times: one-and-a-half liters of fluid, an emergency jacket (such as a Houdini), an emergency blanket, and a headlamp with extra batteries.
