Epidavrios Dromos - Half Marathon

Epidavrios Dromos – Theater to Theater is an unparalleled running experience set against the backdrop of Greece’s rich cultural heritage. This 21-kilometer half marathon begins at the Little Theatre of Ancient Epidaurus, nestled by the sea, and winds its way through historic paths and charming landscapes before concluding inside the revered Ancient Stadium of the Sanctuary of Asclepius.
Participants start their journey from the small but enchanting theater, then traverse the ancient harbor of Epidaurus, where history seems to come alive. The route leads runners through Ligourio’s winding cobbled streets, offering glimpses into traditional Greek village life. Along the way, competitors pass by numerous archaeological sites and sacred areas associated with Asclepius, the god of medicine.
The highlight of this race is undoubtedly its finish line within the Great Ancient Theatre of Epidaurus itself—an awe-inspiring setting that has hosted performances for over two millennia. The atmosphere during the event is electric as runners from 22 different countries converge to celebrate their shared passion and respect for history.
In addition to the half marathon, there are also a 5K run and a fun kids’ race of one kilometer designed specifically for young participants aged six to eighteen years old.
