From August 28th to the 31st, our climbing club is heading to Snowdonia for a weekend of adventure and camaraderie. Nestled in the heart of the Ogwen Valley, we’ll be staying at Glan Dena Hut—a cozy bunkhouse perfect for unwinding after full days spent exploring.
Snowdonia offers an array of activities suitable for all skill levels. Whether you’re up for clipping bolts on challenging routes or prefer a more relaxed day hiking through scenic trails, there’s something to suit everyone's preferences. The area is home to numerous crags with climbs ranging from beginner-friendly paths to advanced challenges, ensuring that climbers can find the perfect route.
Evenings at Glan Dena Hut are all about enjoying good company and shared experiences. Group dinners bring everyone together in a friendly atmosphere, while downtime allows for relaxation and socializing. These trips have always been an excellent blend of climbing adventures and community bonding.
Please remember to pack your own food and sleeping gear as we won’t be providing meals or bedding. We encourage club members to coordinate carpooling through the Facebook event page and WhatsApp group for those who need a lift. A personal first aid kit is recommended, along with adherence to safety guidelines provided by ESC.
For non-members interested in joining us, please note that you will receive an email discount code if you've recently joined or plan to join soon. If not, there's no problem—simply contact the committee for assistance. The cost breakdown includes £70 for non-members and £60 for members for a 3-night stay.
