Set for Sunday, September 6th, 2026, the Fast Days of Summer 5000 returns to Kelowna, British Columbia as its sixth annual edition. This certified race (BC-2019-010-PTBA) offers runners a flat and fast course along the Rail Trail near Leckie Place and Dilworth Drive. Parking is conveniently located south of the start line with ample space around Rusty’s Sports Lounge. Participants can pick up their early race packages at Play Store (101-1950 Harvey Avenue) on Saturday, September 5th from 11:00 am to 2:00 pm. Race day package pickup is available near the Rail Trail between Leslie Place and Dilworth Drive in Kelowna. For the 5K race, packages can be picked up from 7:00 am to 7:45 am, while mile race participants have a window of 8:15 am to 9:00 am. The event kicks off with an 8:00 AM start for the chip-timed and certified 5K run (BC-2019-010-PTBA). This course is ideal for first-time runners looking to complete their inaugural 5K, as well as seasoned athletes aiming to set a new personal record. Additionally, those who have been pushing themselves throughout summer training will find this race an excellent opportunity to showcase their progress. For younger participants, the event includes an untimed kids' fun run following the mile race by donation. This family-friendly addition encourages children of all ages and abilities to enjoy running in a supportive environment. Registration for both races closes at 6:00 PM on September 5th, providing ample time for runners to secure their spots before the big day. All proceeds from the event will be donated to support the UBCO Heat cross country program.
