Flete 10K and Family Fun Run

The Flete Estate presents its second annual Flete 10K and Family Fun Run on September 12, 2026. Organized by the Ivybridge Rotary Club, this scenic race offers runners an unforgettable experience through one of Devon's most picturesque landscapes.
Participants can choose from three races: a challenging 10K (starting at 3pm), a family-friendly 5K (beginning at 1pm), and a fun-filled 1K run for all ages (kickoff at 2pm). The event takes place within the stunning Flete Estate, an area not usually open to the public, providing runners with exclusive access to its idyllic grounds.
The 10K route winds through varied terrain, starting on grassy tracks and meandering into shaded woodlands along the River Erme. Runners will encounter a slight incline as they pass through Holbeton village before looping back onto estate paths that skirt the riverbank until returning to the start line. The race is licensed by England Athletics, ensuring adherence to strict rules regarding safety and fair play.
For those joining in the 5K event, the course offers an equally engaging mix of terrain with a more relaxed pace through open fields and woodland trails. This shorter distance provides a wonderful introduction for runners looking to explore the estate's beauty without committing to the longer route.
The Family Fun Run is designed especially for young athletes aged one to nine years old who will complete two laps around Holbeton Cricket Club’s fenced cricket pitch, with an option for a single lap if preferred. The event encourages family participation and ensures safety through supervised runs within designated areas.
All races feature well-placed water stations along the route, ensuring runners stay hydrated throughout their run. Additionally, medical support is readily available should any participant require assistance during or after the race.
Participants will find refreshments at the finish line alongside information tents from sponsors such as Howard & Over Solicitors and Greenslade Taylor Hunt Estate Agents. The Cricket Pavilion serves not only as a registration point but also acts as a safe haven for lost children, ensuring peace of mind for all attendees.
Registration is open online through Entry Central until September 5th or on the day at Holbeton Cricket Club starting from noon. Race numbers and T-shirts are guaranteed to those who register early; however, late entries may not receive these items due to limited availability.
Parking will be available near the event site with marshals guiding vehicles into designated spots beginning at midday. The race start line is conveniently located adjacent to both parking areas and the Cricket Pavilion.
