SALCOMBE BREWERY CO SPRINT TRIATHLON

Immerse yourself in the picturesque coastal town of Salcombe for an exhilarating sprint triathlon that promises both challenge and camaraderie. Set against the stunning backdrop of South Hams, this inaugural race combines sea swimming, cycling through rolling hills, and a scenic trail run.
The adventure begins at North Sands with a 700-meter swim in the inviting waters of Salcombe Bay. After exiting the water, competitors transition to their bikes for an undulating course that winds through charming villages like Hope and Galmpton. The ride features steep ascents and descents, including a challenging climb up to Malborough before descending along scenic switchbacks back towards North Sands.
The race concludes with a 3-kilometer trail run into the valley behind North Sands, offering runners a gentle ascent to Lower Collaton followed by a winding descent back through lush greenery. The course showcases Salcombe's natural beauty and challenges athletes' endurance on varied terrain.
Organizers emphasize creating an inclusive atmosphere where participants of all levels can enjoy themselves while pushing their limits. Whether you're a seasoned triathlete or new to the sport, this event welcomes everyone with its supportive community vibe.
Should sea conditions prevent the swim portion from taking place, the race will switch seamlessly into a duathlon format, ensuring safety without compromising on excitement.
Registration includes entry fees of £65 and covers essential amenities such as medical support, route marking, feed stops, and event photography. Participants also receive an exclusive Salcombe Sprint Triathlon medal upon completion, with prizes awarded to top male and female finishers in both categories.
Moreover, a portion of the proceeds will benefit the RNLI's local chapter in Salcombe, encouraging athletes to raise additional funds through JustGiving platforms linked during registration or by setting personal fundraising goals.
