Welcome to the Fredsloppet Alingsås, scheduled for October 3rd at Nolhaga Park. This annual race is more than just an athletic competition; it's a heartfelt effort to raise funds and awareness against war and oppression through the support of local organizations. The day kicks off with activities designed for all ages and abilities. At 10:30 AM, participants can collect their number tags before heading into the park. The fun begins at 11:30 AM with a short 350-meter run specifically tailored for children, though adults are welcome to join in as well. For those aged under 13 years old, there's an additional event starting at noon covering 2.3 kilometers. At 12:30 PM, three events start simultaneously: the promenade class of 2.3 km, a run for individuals with disabilities (with assistance allowed), and two main races – one over 4.3 kilometers and another stretching to an impressive 8.6 kilometers. The latter race will see timekeeping in place, awarding prizes to the top three finishers. Throughout the day, there are opportunities to enjoy refreshments such as coffee or grilled sausages if weather permits. For those interested in supporting Fredsloppet beyond just participating, consider making a voluntary donation via Plusgiro 947581-5 or Swish at number 123 533 3364. Group registrations are also available for anyone looking to enjoy the event with friends. Simply contact info.fredsloppet@gmail.com and mention your intention to register a group of six people or more, qualifying you for discounts on entry fees regardless of differing race distances among participants. Should you encounter any issues paying online via card or Swish, manual registration is an option available by contacting the organizers through email. They will guide you through the process of submitting payment details and receiving confirmation once your application has been processed successfully. To get into training mode for Fredsloppet early on, consider joining their Strava group where runners can motivate each other leading up to race day: strava.app.link/YbWQVDeCv3b.
