Golden Acre Junior Relay 2026

Golden Acre Park is set to host its beloved summer evening relay race once again, welcoming teams of young athletes for an exciting and competitive run around Leeds. This year’s edition invites groups of three runners from School Years 2 through 7 to participate.
Teams can compete in one of six categories tailored specifically for different age ranges:
- Younger Boys: All team members must be in School Years 2 - 4.
- Younger Girls: Similarly, all participants should fall within the same school year range as above.
- Younger Mixed: Teams with at least one boy and one girl from School Years 2 - 4 are eligible to enter this category.
For slightly older runners:
- Older Boys: All team members must be in School Years 2 - 7.
- Older Girls: The criteria for this group is the same as above, but all participants should be girls within that age range.
- Older Mixed: Teams with at least one boy and one girl from School Years 2 - 7 are welcome to join.
The race offers a unique opportunity for young athletes to showcase their skills in an encouraging environment surrounded by fellow competitors. With limited spots available—only 70 teams can enter—the event is expected to fill up quickly, so interested participants should secure their entry online soon. Walk-up registrations will not be accepted on the day of the race.
