Iron Heart Ultra Race
Experience Valentine's Day weekend like never before at Maramec Spring Park, nestled among the scenic Ozark hills. This challenging trail race offers something for every endurance runner, from first-timers to seasoned ultramarathon veterans. The event takes place on Saturday, February 13, 2027, and features a variety of distances including the grueling 100-mile option as well as shorter but equally demanding races such as the 50K and 10K.
The race course winds through two picturesque trails within Maramec Spring Park. The Leatherbritches Trail offers approximately 1.5 miles of scenic single-track forest path, providing runners with stunning views of the historic Maramec Iron Works mine pit. In contrast, the BallHooter Trail presents a more rugged challenge over its 3.4-mile loop, featuring significant elevation changes.
Aid stations are strategically placed to support participants throughout their journey. A fully stocked station is available at all times during the event, while runners can also expect one water-only stop along the course. For those pushing themselves beyond the 50-mile mark, pacers are permitted after Mile 50 for the 100-mile and 100K distances.
Upon crossing the finish line, participants will receive custom Iron Heart belt buckles if they complete any of the longer races (100 mile, 100K, 50 mile, or 50K). All finishers in these categories are also eligible for overall male and female awards.
The race venue provides a rustic camping experience with overnight parking available on-site. Spectators and leashed pets are welcome to join the festivities, adding an extra layer of community spirit to this already engaging event.
