Isaac`s Tea Trail Ultra. Backwards

Embark on an unforgettable journey through one of Britain's most captivating landscapes, where rugged moors and serene valleys await. The Isaac’s Tea Trail Ultra Race invites runners from all corners to explore the enchanting North Pennines Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (AONB), a UNESCO Global Geopark brimming with natural splendor and rich history.
This year, participants will traverse 37 miles in reverse along the iconic tea trail route that winds through Allendale, Ninebanks, Alston, Nenthead, and back to Allendale. The course has been meticulously waymarked, ensuring clear navigation for all runners. Marshals at key points provide support, while a downloadable map and GPX file offer guidance on your device.
The North Pennines AONB is a haven of diverse flora and fauna, with rolling hills, cascading rivers, and ancient woodlands that invite exploration. Runners have 12 hours to complete the ultra distance, allowing for a leisurely pace if desired. Less confident runners can take their time to enjoy the scenery without pressure.
The fastest known times are held by Cees Van Der Land (5:56:38) and Kate Halliman (7:27:20), while Katie, Matt, and Charlotte set the record for the relay team at 6:01:16. These achievements highlight the challenge yet accessibility of this route.
