Join us on Sunday, August 9, 2026, for the fourth annual It's In My Blood Awareness Walk & 5K Run at Delaware Park in downtown Buffalo. This meaningful event aims to raise awareness and funds for individuals affected by bleeding and clotting disorders, which are complex lifelong conditions that can have serious impacts on those living with them. The day kicks off with a scenic 1.75-mile walk starting at 10 AM, followed by the 5K run beginning at 9 AM. Both events take place within Delaware Park's serene landscape and offer participants an opportunity to explore its picturesque trails while supporting a vital cause. The 5K route is designed as two loops around the park, ending near St. George Orthodox Church where runners will find water stations along the way. Registration remains open until race day with early bird pricing available if you sign up by August 1st for guaranteed t-shirt sizes. Virtual registration options are also provided for those who cannot make it to Buffalo but still wish to contribute—simply run or walk your 5K anytime between August 1 and September 1, track your results using the free virtual app, and receive a mailed event shirt (Continental USA only). Upon completion of either race, participants can look forward to complimentary lunch from Just Pizza food truck at the finish line. The post-race celebration includes music, refreshments, and an awards ceremony recognizing top male and female 5K runners as well as age group winners across various categories. For more information or sponsorship opportunities, please contact John Alduino at jalduino@wnybloodcare.org or by phone at 716-936-5201. Race organizers reserve the right to convert this event into a virtual run in case of adverse weather conditions or public safety concerns. Don't miss out on an unforgettable day filled with community spirit, scenic beauty, and impactful support for those managing bleeding disorders. See you at Delaware Park!

About Buffalo
Learn more about the host city, Buffalo.
The largest city in New York State's Niagara Frontier, Buffalo is a city full of surprises. Though Buffalo is sometimes the butt of jokes about chicken wings, its long-suffering sports teams, and the mountains of snow under which it is supposedly buried each winter, those in the know tell a different story: one of vibrant nightlife, world-class museums and cultural attractions, tight-knit neighborhoods with strong community spirit – and the sunniest summers in Northeastern United States.
