Experience the thrill of Wyoming's oldest and finest running tradition at the 48th annual Klondike Rush, hosted by Johnson County Family YMCA. This iconic race offers both a challenging 10K and an accessible 5K for runners and walkers alike. Set against the backdrop of Buffalo’s historic course on Saturday, August 1, 2026, participants will enjoy scenic views and a vibrant community atmosphere as they traverse through this beloved event. The Klondike Rush has been a cornerstone in Wyoming's running calendar since its inception, drawing athletes from across the region to test their mettle against one another. For those seeking an easier pace but still wanting to partake in the historic route, there’s also the 10th Annual Klondike Volks. This leisurely stroll offers participants a chance to enjoy the course at a relaxed pace while taking in all the charm and beauty of Buffalo's surroundings. Registration fees are $25 for youth (under 18) and $35 for adults, with an additional shirt option available for $10. Packet pick-up begins on Friday, July 31st from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM at the Johnson County Family YMCA located at 101 Klondike Drive in Buffalo. On race day, packet pick-up opens early Saturday morning starting at 6:30 AM. The event kicks off with a pre-race instruction and national anthem signing beginning promptly at 7:25 AM followed by mass starts for both the 10K (at 7:30 AM) and the 5K races. Awards ceremonies will take place shortly after completion of each race, celebrating all participants' achievements. Join us as we honor this long-standing tradition that continues to inspire runners and walkers year after year. For more information or to register for Klondike Rush, visit jcfymca.org.

About Buffalo
Learn more about the host city, Buffalo.
The largest city in New York State's Niagara Frontier, Buffalo is a city full of surprises. Though Buffalo is sometimes the butt of jokes about chicken wings, its long-suffering sports teams, and the mountains of snow under which it is supposedly buried each winter, those in the know tell a different story: one of vibrant nightlife, world-class museums and cultural attractions, tight-knit neighborhoods with strong community spirit – and the sunniest summers in Northeastern United States.
