North American Friendship Run

On Saturday, August 8, 2026, Delaware Park in downtown Buffalo will host the inaugural North American Friendship Run, an event organized by the Asian American Cultural Alliance (AACA) and presented in partnership with the Asian Food and Culture Festival. This run/walk aims to celebrate cultural diversity while promoting physical wellness within the community.
The scenic route takes runners through picturesque paths of Delaware Park before finishing near St. George Orthodox Church at 2 Nottingham Terrace. The course is a two-loop, 5K race that starts promptly at 8 AM from a location just minutes away from the finish line. Participants will have access to one water station during their run and bottled water upon completion.
Registration remains open until race day on the AACA website, with early bird discounts available for those who sign up by July 15th ($30) compared to the regular price of $35 thereafter. Youth (ages 6-14) can register at a reduced rate of $20, and children aged five and under participate free but without an event shirt included in their entry fee.
The post-race celebration awaits all participants with light snacks and beverages near St. George Orthodox Church after the race concludes. Free parking is available nearby for convenience.
Medals will be awarded to first-place male and female overall winners, while age group recognitions are also part of the awards ceremony. All runners can print custom certificates from their results page and view finish line photos online post-race.
