Keeping Diabetes at Bay 5K Walk/Run

Join the Texas A&M Coastal Bend Health Education Center for their fifth annual Keeping Diabetes at Bay 5K Walk/Run on November 14, 2026. This community-focused event takes place at Water's Edge Park along Shoreline Boulevard and aims to raise awareness about diabetes management while providing essential resources.
Participants can register early online or in person before October 23 for a discounted fee of $25; after this date, the on-site registration cost will be $35. Race-day packet pick-up is available from November 11 through November 13 at Coastal Bend Health Education Center located at 4215 S. Staples St., Corpus Christi, TX.
On race day itself, participants can collect their packets between 6:45 a.m. and 7:15 a.m. near the starting line of Water's Edge Park. The event officially begins with check-in from 7:00 to 7:30 a.m., followed by a ceremonial start at 7:30 a.m.
The race offers a scenic route that winds through the park, providing runners and walkers alike with beautiful views of the shoreline as they cover the 5K distance. All proceeds benefit the Diabetes Education Program, which provides free community resources such as blood glucose meters, testing supplies, and health screenings throughout the year.
