Discover the historic charm of Saintes on September 20, 2026, as you lace up for the sixth edition of Les Foulées du Patrimoine. This scenic race offers runners an immersive journey through one of France’s most culturally rich cities. The event kicks off at the Abbaye aux Dames and winds its way through Saintes’ ancient streets and landmarks. Participants will navigate steep staircases, winding alleys, and lush green spaces as they explore the city's heritage. The route takes you past iconic sites such as the Gallo-Roman amphitheater—a true highlight of this historic run. Competitors can choose from several race options to suit their preferences: - La Grande Foulée: A 20km course that challenges runners with a mix of flat and hilly terrain, starting at 9:15 AM.
- Le Relai en Duo: Split the distance between two teammates in this relay event. The first runner covers 7 kilometers, followed by their partner who runs an additional 13 kilometers. - La Petite Foulée: A shorter but no less exciting option for runners looking to experience Saintes’ beauty without committing to a full marathon length. This 10km route also begins at the Abbaye aux Dames and starts promptly at 9:30 AM.
Children are not left out, with races tailored just for them: - A short but sweet 800m race starting early in the morning at 8:45 AM - An intermediate 1.5km option kicking off a bit earlier at 8:30 AM - For young runners craving an extra challenge, there’s also a longer 2.3km course setting out from the Abbaye aux Dames as early as 8:15 AM All races finish back where they began, at the historic Abbaye aux Dames. After crossing the line, participants can look forward to celebrating their achievements and enjoying refreshments while awaiting the award ceremony starting around 11:15 AM. Make sure you register in advance for this unforgettable race through Saintes’ storied streets; no on-site registrations will be available. Join us for a day filled with history, camaraderie, and breathtaking views as we celebrate Les Foulées du Patrimoine.
