About the Event

In the upcoming race season, runners and walkers of all ages are invited to participate in five distinct events designed for everyone from beginners to seasoned athletes. The highlight of this year’s lineup is the 21km route that winds through the natural trails of Matha, Thors, Prignac, and Courcerac. This scenic course offers a glimpse into local nature with its charming landscapes including the Etang de Courcerac lake and the Antenne river.
For those looking for something shorter but equally captivating, the 10km race takes runners through the serene woods of La Barde before following alongside the picturesque Antenne River in the second half. The course is a delightful blend of woodland trails and riverside paths that showcase some of the area’s most beautiful scenery.
The 5km event caters to all skill levels, weaving along portions of the same enchanting forest tracks as well as the tranquil waters of the Antenne river on its return leg. This shorter distance provides an accessible introduction for newcomers while still offering a rewarding experience.
In addition to these races, there are two special events designed specifically for young participants: a 700m dash and a longer 1.9km run that both take place within the charming grounds of Matha Castle Park. These courses are not only free but also provide an engaging way for children to enjoy running in a safe environment.
Completing this year’s offerings, two walking routes have been added to the calendar for 2026, ensuring there is something for every type of participant and interest level.
The events promise a mix of challenging terrain and scenic beauty that will captivate both seasoned athletes and first-time participants alike.
