Metro Aberdeen Proms 3K Winter Series October

The Metro Aberdeen Running Club is excited to present the Promenade 3K Winter Series for the winter season of 2026/2027. This series, promoted under Scottish Athletics League (SAL) rules and measured by Jones Counter, offers runners a unique opportunity to experience the scenic beauty of The Beach Esplanade in Aberdeen.
Scheduled on the first Friday of each month from October through March, participants will enjoy six races starting at 1:00 PM. Specific dates for these events include October 2nd, November 6th, December 4th, January 8th, February 5th, and March 5th in 2027.
Each race is a flat course along the picturesque promenade just north of the Beach Leisure Centre. The entry fee per race is £3, with pre-registration required as no entries will be accepted on-site. To ensure consistency throughout the series, runners are encouraged to keep their same number across all events and collect it at registration each month.
Registration takes place 150 metres north of the Beach Leisure Centre where participants must report before every race to confirm their participation. The series awards prizes based on accumulated times from three races within the season, recognizing various categories of achievement throughout the winter months.
For runners unable to compete due to unforeseen circumstances but still wishing to support another participant, a substitution process is available by contacting the race director via email with full details about both parties involved.
