Millstone Hill Race

Millstone Hill Race, scheduled for Friday, September 11th, 2026, offers runners an exhilarating evening adventure around Bennachie Visitor Centre. The race kicks off at 18:30 and winds through a challenging route of approximately 10 kilometers with 377 meters of elevation gain.
Participants will experience the rugged beauty of Millstone Hill’s varied terrain as they navigate steep ascents, rocky paths, and winding trails under the setting sun or by twilight. The course is marked along its entirety to guide runners safely through this demanding landscape. Trail shoes are highly recommended due to the unpredictable nature of the ground beneath your feet.
Registration for the event must be completed online before midnight on Wednesday, September 9th, with a fee of £12.50 plus an administration charge. No entries will be accepted at the race venue itself; all participants must register and collect their bib numbers by 6:00 PM on race day to ensure they are ready for the start time.
Competitors should come prepared with appropriate footwear and attire suitable for both the weather conditions and the terrain, which can range from grassy slopes to rocky outcrops. Water will be provided at the finish line but participants must bring their own hydration throughout the course as water stations are not available along the route.
Parking is available at Bennachie Visitor Centre; however, it's important to note that this parking area does not have exclusive use and individual charges may apply for those who park there.
Top male and female finishers will be awarded prizes in recognition of their impressive performance on such a challenging course. The race adheres strictly to Scottish Hill Runners guidelines ensuring fair play while emphasizing the importance of personal responsibility regarding safety.
To ensure everyone's well-being, participants are encouraged to inform organizers about any existing medical conditions prior to the event and should bring along necessary medication if required during the run. Additionally, headphones are not allowed for obvious reasons related to awareness and communication on the trail.
Dogs will be restricted from participating in this race due to safety concerns regarding both runners and pets alike.
