About the Event

Experience the exhilarating Mohawk Mountain Race at Mohawk Mountain Ski Resort, where winter’s snow transforms into an autumn adventure. Organized by Steep Endurance and set against the backdrop of vibrant fall foliage, this race challenges runners with steep ascents and thrilling descents on trails that wind through the mountain's diverse terrain.
Runners can choose from a variety of distances: a 5K or 10K loop course, which includes both challenging climbs and scenic traverses; a half marathon that extends into Mohawk State Forest for an additional challenge; and a full marathon featuring two loops of the half-marathon route. Each distance offers sweeping views and moments to marvel at the changing colors of autumn.
The race begins on the left side of the mountain, climbing up steep trails before weaving through various paths like Timber Trail and Pine Trail. Runners will encounter thrilling descents down Victor’s Way and Mohawk Trail as they make their way back toward the finish line. For those tackling multiple loops, each lap brings fresh challenges and breathtaking vistas.
Awards are given to top male and female runners in three categories: overall winners for 5K/10K, half marathon, and full marathon. All participants receive a finisher medal from Ragged Cuts, along with swag from event sponsors. The post-race celebration includes pre-packaged food and canned beverages at the finish line.
Registration is final; no refunds or bib transfers are allowed as funds support race preparation well in advance of the event date. Hikers and walkers are welcome to enjoy a more leisurely pace on either the 5K or 10K routes, taking in the scenery while still experiencing Mohawk Mountain’s unique terrain.

About Cornwall

Cornwall is a town in Connecticut. It is comprised of many small parts from yesteryear, but today is generally divided into three parts, Cornwall Bridge, West Cornwall, and Cornwall Village. Cornwall Village is purely residential aside from two churches, the town hall, a library, and a post office. West Cornwall is the most commercial of the three and contains nearly all eating and shopping establishments. Cornwall Bridge is home to the only beds in town, a single restaurant, a general store, and a few other shops. Cornwall had a population of 1434 at the time of the 2000 census.
