Monthly Mile 20th August 2026

Embark on an affordable running journey through the serene South Park in Darlington, where monthly 1-mile road races await participants aged eight years and older of all skill levels. Held within a certified course that boasts gently rolling terrain and traffic-free tarmac paths, these events offer runners a safe and scenic setting to test their abilities.
Each race is part of an ongoing series consisting of five scheduled events from which you can choose your preferred dates for participation. By completing at least three out of the five races, participants become eligible for prizes based on their Top 10 Average Age Grade % Scores. Should you manage more than three races within this period, only your best three scores will be averaged to determine eligibility.
The series culminates in September with a complimentary sixth race exclusively for those who have entered at least one of the initial five events. This final event is followed by an awards presentation celebrating the achievements and dedication of all runners involved. Entry fees are flexible: £11 grants access to the entire series, while individual races can be joined for just £3.50 each. Cash payments on race night are also accepted.
All races adhere strictly to UKA Rules of Competition, ensuring fair play and accurate results that will be submitted to Power of 10 and Run Britain Rankings systems. With scenic routes through South Park's lush greenery, these monthly events offer more than just competition; they provide a community atmosphere where runners can connect, challenge themselves, and enjoy the beauty of Darlington’s natural surroundings.
