Dive into the enchanting waters and traverse stunning landscapes at the Moose2Goose Island Race 2026, set to take place amidst the serene beauty of Älgö and Gåsö. This Swimrun adventure offers a unique blend of swimming and running across two distinct islands in Sweden’s picturesque inner archipelago.
The race begins on Älgö, where participants face a hilly terrain that rises from sea level up to 50 meters above the waterline. The course winds through rocky cliffs, unpaved trails, and dense forests, providing an exhilarating challenge as you navigate varied elevations and terrains.
After crossing over to Gåsö, runners are greeted with a more tranquil setting. Here, the race follows paths and small gravel roads that weave through lush meadows and forested areas, offering breathtaking views of the sea throughout your journey.
The total distance spans approximately 10 kilometers, including five swimming legs totaling around 1000 meters (with the longest swim being 350 meters) and five running sections covering roughly 9000 meters. The course is designed to cater to a range of competitors looking for a moderately challenging yet enjoyable experience.
Participants can choose from various classes, both solo and team events, ensuring there’s an option that suits every level of skill and interest. Early registrants will also receive the race's signature super comfy sweater as a special welcome gift.
With room for only 120 participants on a first-come-first-served basis, this event offers a unique opportunity to connect with nature and fellow athletes in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
