Moray Firth Triathlon Club Festival, Gordonstoun

The Triathlon Festival at Gordonstoun School returns for its 10th consecutive year, organized by Moray Firth Triathlon Club and sanctioned with an 'Event Permit' from British Triathlon. This long-standing competition offers both a Sprint Triathlon and limited entries for Aquabike (Swim/Bike) participants.
Entry fees are kept minimal to ensure the event remains accessible without frills such as medals, t-shirts, goody bags, or catering services. Prizes will be awarded to overall male and female winners in the sprint race, with additional awards given based on age group participation if there is sufficient interest from entrants. All races will feature electronic timing for precise results available shortly after completion.
The Sprint Triathlon consists of a 412-meter pool swim (equivalent to 18 lengths of a standard 25-yard pool), followed by a challenging 25-kilometer cycle on public roads, and concludes with a scenic off-road run covering five kilometers within the Gordonstoun School grounds. Aquabike participants will complete only the swimming and cycling portions before crossing the finish line.
This event welcomes athletes of all skill levels who are at least 15 years old as of December 31, 2026. For those between ages 15-17 on that date, parental or guardian permission is required along with a confirmation of fitness and health to participate safely in the competition.
Competitors must ensure they have adequate third-party insurance through membership with Triathlon Scotland (or Welsh Triathlon/Triathlon England) for home nation race licensing. If not already a member, participants can purchase a British Triathlon Race Pass at checkout to cover their entry requirements.
Race day activities start early with registration opening at 8:30 AM and closing by 9:45 AM. Transition areas open at 8:50 AM and close promptly at 9:40 AM for safety reasons, followed by a mandatory race briefing before the first heat begins at 10:00 AM sharp.
The event encourages participants to submit an accurate 400-meter swim time ahead of their entry deadline. This information helps in organizing heats with swimmers of similar pace, enhancing everyone's enjoyment and competitiveness during the pool segment.
For Gordonstoun School pupils aged between 15-18 on December 31, 2026, race entries are free but they must purchase a Race Pass if not already home nation members. The pass costs £2.00 plus a service fee of 4%.
