Skedaddle Speyside 10k

Entries for the Skedaddle Speyside Trail 10k, scheduled for Sunday, October 11, 2026, are now open. This race is part of the broader and popular Speyside Series 2026, which also includes the Archiestown 5K in April, Dufftown 5-Mile run in July, and the Windfarm Challenge Trail Half Marathon in August.
For those interested in participating in all four events, a special series entry is available for £40, offering a significant discount compared to entering each event individually. The registration deadline for this race is midnight on Friday, October 9th, with no entries accepted on the day of the event.
The Skedaddle Speyside Trail 10k begins at Archiestown Village Square and follows an undulating route through scenic landscapes in Elchies woods, offering stunning views of both Little Conval Hill and Meikle Conval Hill. The terrain gradually becomes more challenging as you approach the halfway mark, where water stations will be available to keep runners hydrated.
After passing through a narrow gate near mile 4, participants face an exhilarating fast downhill section along Mannoch Road with breathtaking vistas of Speyside's rolling hills and the distant Cairngorms. This part includes crossing B9102 under careful supervision by marshals, ensuring safety despite no road closures being implemented.
The final stretch winds around Cardhu Reservoir before finishing at the historic Johnnie Walker distillery grounds in Cardhu Village. Here, runners can enjoy a complimentary dram of whisky for those over 18 years old and take in the stunning countryside views while receiving their finishers' momentoes.
Toilets are available both at Archiestown Village Hall (registration point) and within the visitor center at Cardhu Distillery. Shuttle buses will transport participants between parking areas near both ends, allowing runners to leave their cars safely without worrying about limited spaces in town.
Safety is a top priority; sweeper runners, first aid teams, and volunteer marshals ensure that every participant can enjoy this challenging yet rewarding course with peace of mind. Prize giving takes place at approximately 12:30 PM on the day at Cardhu Distillery for first and second male and female finishers as well as age categories V40, V50, V60 & V70.
In case of severe weather conditions that might endanger participants' safety, race organizers reserve the right to postpone or reschedule. All registered runners will be automatically entered into any rearranged event dates without additional fees.
