On Sunday, September 13, 2026, the picturesque island of Patmos will come alive with the vibrant energy of runners as it hosts the annual road races organized by the PATMOS GYMNASTICS CLUB "STADION" in collaboration with the Municipality of Patmos and the South Aegean Region (PNEI). This event is also supported by Aegis EAS SEGAS DODEKANISOS, ensuring a seamless experience for all participants.
The races begin at 8:00 AM sharp from Town Hall Square Chora, where athletes will embark on courses that showcase Patmos's stunning landscapes and charming streets. The half marathon route stretches 21 kilometers through the island’s scenic countryside before finishing back in the heart of Chora. For those looking for a shorter challenge or a family-friendly event, there are options including a dynamic walking race, a children’s run of 1,000 meters, and a 5-kilometer road race.
The half marathon starts at Panagia Geranou Church and winds its way through the island's winding paths and historic sites. Participants will enjoy breathtaking views as they make their way back to Town Hall Square Chora for the finish line festivities. The event concludes by noon, offering runners a chance to celebrate their achievements with fellow competitors and locals alike.
