Pinawa Multisport returns to Pinawa in Manitoba on August 8-9, 2026. The event is part of a weekend that also features the Open Water Swim and Mudskipper Pinawa. This year's highlight for adults will be the Free Spirit Triathlon.
The race venue is located at Pinawa Provincial Park, just off Highway 53 in northwestern Manitoba, approximately 1.5 hours from Winnipeg. The setting on race morning offers a serene environment with lush greenery and natural beauty around the park’s trails and open spaces. Participants can expect to start their journey under clear skies early Sunday morning.
Pinawa Multisport has been running for several years now, supported by local community efforts and volunteers. In 2026, it will welcome participants from all over Manitoba with a variety of distances including the Free Spirit Triathlon at Olympic distance (46km), Sprint (21km), and Tri-a-Tri (100m swim/5k bike/2k run). The event also includes a Wonder Kids triathlon for younger runners, free to participate.
The course layout starts from Pinawa Provincial Park’s main entrance on Highway 53. It winds through the park's trails, offering both flat and slight inclines with natural terrain challenges. There are three aid stations along the route where participants can refuel or take a moment of rest. The race concludes at the same starting point.
The weekend weather is expected to be comfortable for racing, with an average temperature around 19.5°C, ranging from a minimum of 15°C to a maximum of 24°C. To register, visit https://raceroster.com/events/2026/112066/pinawa-multisport before the deadline on August 8th at midnight. Bib pickup will be from Pinawa Provincial Park’s main entrance between 7:30 AM and 9:00 AM on race day for participants of all distances.
The start location is at Pinawa Provincial Park, Highway 53 in Pinawa, Manitoba. Participants must be over the age of 18 to compete in any adult event; younger runners are welcome in the Wonder Tri Kids segment. First-timers should ensure they bring their ID and race number for a smooth experience.
