Immerse yourself in the rugged beauty of Ullswater Valley for the 15km trail race around Place Fell. Part of the Rab Helvellyn Sky Ultra weekend, this challenging yet rewarding course offers stunning views and varied terrain.
The event kicks off from King George Playing Field after other races have started, allowing you to enjoy panoramic vistas of the lake and surrounding valleys throughout your run. The initial stretch is a swift dash across fields before hitting mildly technical trails leading up to the first checkpoint at Silver Crag. From there, it’s an easy ascent through scenic paths down to Silver Bay.
Continuing along Ullswater's shoreline, you'll enter Boredale where the route briefly merges with tarmac roads before transitioning back onto challenging terrain that ascends steeply towards Boredale Hause. Here, you’ll be greeted by breathtaking views of Kirkstone Pass and its surrounding fells as you push through CP4.
The descent from Boredale Hause is a thrilling mix of fast-paced running on semi-technical trails, leading to the final checkpoint at CP5 where you retrace your steps back towards the finish line. This race offers an exhilarating blend of technical challenges and stunning natural beauty, making it perfect for trail runners looking to test their skills while enjoying some of England's most picturesque landscapes.

Patterdale is a small village and civil parish in the Westmorland and Furness district of Cumbria, England. It is in the eastern part of the Lake District, and the name is also used for the long valley in which the village sits, also called the Ullswater Valley. The parish had a population of 460 in 2001, increasing to 501 at the 2011 census.
