The Redcar Running Festival is an annual celebration of running and community spirit, offering three distinct races for runners of all ages and abilities. Organized by New Marske Harriers, this year marks the festival's 40th anniversary, with a special focus on local history through its event t-shirt design. ### Race Details Redcar Half Marathon Starting at 10:00 AM, the Redcar Half Marathon is not only an AUKCM certified course but also serves as an England Masters Qualification Event. This challenging half marathon takes runners along scenic coastal routes and through historic parts of Redcar. Participants will receive a finisher's medal and t-shirt upon completion. Zetland 10km Kicking off at 9:10 AM, the Zetland 10km is another AUKCM certified race that showcases the beauty of Redcar’s coastline and its vibrant streets. The route offers runners breathtaking views and a memorable running experience. All finishers will receive both a medal and t-shirt. 3km Young Athletes Race + Fun Run The festival also includes an inclusive 3km event designed for young athletes aged between 4 and under 15, as well as all ages who wish to participate in the fun run at 9:15 AM. This race is open to boys and girls registered with England Athletics within specific age groups; others will be considered Fun Run entries where parents are welcome to join their children on this short but exciting course. ### Event Highlights - T-Shirt Offerings: For those looking to commemorate the event, additional t-shirts can now be purchased in advance. The 2026 design features a historic image of Redcar’s Blast Furnace, which was once Europe's second-largest and symbolizes the town’s industrial heritage.
- Race Registration: All participants must collect their race numbers on-site or during specified pre-race collection periods; no numbers will be mailed out. - Timing System: Each race utilizes a chip timing system to ensure accurate results. Race details, including routes and registration information, can be found via the official event website at www.nmhraces.net. ### Additional Information For further updates or detailed route maps, visit [www.nmhraces.net](http://www.nmhraces.net).
