Rhayader Round the Lakes 2027

Nestled in the heart of Powys, Wales, Rhayader hosts the annual Round The Lakes 30km and 10km road races. This long-standing tradition has been captivating runners for over four decades, all thanks to a dedicated team of volunteers who bring this event to life each year.
The 30km race is renowned for its breathtaking scenery as it winds through the Elan Valley, one of Wales' most picturesque landscapes. Runners can expect challenging terrain and exposure to the elements on higher parts of the route, making it an exhilarating experience for those seeking a scenic yet demanding course. The event's 10km option offers runners a taste of the valley while still providing stunning views as they head out from Rhayader town and back.
Both races take place along open roads, allowing participants to soak in the natural beauty that surrounds them. Whether you're an avid runner or simply looking for a memorable day outdoors, these races offer something unique for everyone who appreciates Wales' rugged yet beautiful countryside.
Key registration details are as follows: entries must be submitted by noon on Friday, 13th February 2026 to secure your spot in either the 30km race starting at 11.30am or the 10km event which begins at 11.15am.
Race numbers and timing chips can be collected from Rhayader Leisure Centre on Friday, March 6th between 6pm and 8pm, or on race day Saturday, March 7th between 9:00 am and 10:45 am. Please note that there are no refunds or deferrals once your entry has been confirmed.
