About the Event

Run for Windsor returns this September as part of its sixth year tradition to support vital healthcare services at Windsor Regional Hospital. Hosted by the Ahmadiyya Muslim Elder’s Association, along with partners City of Windsor and Windsor Regional Hospital (WRH), Run for Windsor is a charitable event that offers runners an engaging morning in Malden Park on Saturday, September 19, 2026.
Participants have the opportunity to register early online or at the venue starting from 9:30 AM. Early bird registrants can look forward to exclusive perks such as Osmows’ Shawarma’s meal coupons and RFW keychains for the first fifty sign-ups, while those among the initial hundred will receive an additional keychain. Every participant who registers receives a complimentary T-shirt.
The event features two races: a fun 1 km run and a competitive 5 km race that awards medals to top finishers in various categories. Medals are given out for both male and female runners across three age groups—Under 15, 15-49, and 50+ years old.

About Windsor

Windsor is a mid-sized Canadian city on the southwest tip of Ontario. It's an extremely multicultural city with over 20% of its population having been born outside of Canada. The city's rich cultural background is evident in its Middle Eastern, Italian, and Asian neighbourhoods. Just across the Detroit River from Detroit and the American border, it's one of the very few places where you have to go south to enter Canada. Its main waterfront park stretches about 5 km (3.1 mi), from the 1929 Ambassador suspension bridge past the contemporary Windsor Sculpture Park. It ends near the 1894 Italianate Canadian Club Heritage Centre, which recalls when Windsor was a source for liquor smuggled to the Prohibition-era states.
