The Run For Your Life – Eugene, OR is set to return on October 18th, 2026. This beloved annual race supports ShelterCare, an essential nonprofit organization dedicated to serving the local community. Participants can choose from four unique distances: a vibrant 5K for adults aged 18-64 (entry fee $30), a family-friendly 5K designed for children between five and seventeen years old (entry fee $20), a special 5K reserved for seniors over sixty-five (entry fee $25), or free entry for kids under the age of five. The race commences at Alton Baker Park, renowned for its lush greenery and welcoming atmosphere. Runners will enjoy an early autumn setting with temperatures around 57°F (14°C) and mild humidity levels. The course is entirely paved, offering a mix of firm paths and slightly softer sections due to the abundance of autumn foliage. Navigating through scenic trails, runners will experience Eugene’s natural beauty firsthand. Notable features include the park's central lake and historic monuments that add charm to every step. Safety measures are in place with over 100 costumed volunteers as "zombies" scattered throughout the course—these will not touch participants but may be enough of an intimidation factor for young children.
